Join Straight To The Source for an exclusive opportunity to explore the culture, flavours and incredible beauty of the Grampians and Wimmera region west of Melbourne, and its sought after produce. On this trip, you will learn all about sustainable and bio-dynamic farming, go foraging for native plants, hand-harvest Pink Lake Salt and enjoy a fire-pit dinner celebrating seasonal regional ingredients.
First up is a visit to Meredith Dairy, an award-winning goat and sheep farm and dairy producer with a focus on environmental sustainability, then onto Mount Zero Olives for a private guided tour of the olive grove en route to a local indigenous rock shelter. An industry skills PorkStar masterclass and fire-pit dinner showcasing seasonal Wimmera produce will follow, before retiring for the night in luxury bell tents pitched under the stars in the olive grove, in the foothills of the majestic Grampians.
After a gourmet breakfast and an olive and olive oil tasting workshop the next morning, we will head off to hand-harvest Mount Zero Pink Lake Salt in collaboration with the local Barengi Gadjin indigenous community and have lunch on the lake. The afternoon will finish at Best’s Wines with a tour and wine tasting in their private cellar before we head back to Melbourne.
Straight To The Source takes care of all details and logistics, including round trip luxury coach transportation from Melbourne’s CBD*, meals & accompanying beverages, 1 night’s glamping tent accommodation, master-classes, workshops and private access farm tours.
