We are kicking off Spring with an industry day-trip to Darling Mills Farm, NSW, a specialist grower of award-winning salad, herbs, micro-herbs and edible flowers.
Join Steven Adey on a private tour of his farm, which boasts over 100 varieties of herbs and salad plants and a wide range of edible flowers such as nasturtiums, borage and violets. Steven will talk us through the growing process from seed to harvest, including the different sustainable cultivation methods he employs to produce his range, which is hand-harvested to order for delivery to Sydney’s top restaurants.
Following the farm tour, master butcher Tino Dees will take us through a smallgoods workshop of his German Butchery range before we enjoy lunch showcasing Darling Mills’ seasonal produce. Then we’ll head back to Sydney for an interactive gin blending workshop using a selection of botanical distillates at Archie Rose Distillery. Your blends will be judged by an Archie Rose distiller, with a prize for the best!
Straight To The Source take care of all logistics including round-trip luxury coach transportation from/to Sydney*, private farm tour and foraging, smallgoods workshop with master butcher Tino Dees from The German Butcher, lunch prepared by Darren Templeman, Executive Chef of O Bar & Dining and sous chef Dan Webb, and an interactive blending workshop, cocktail and insight into the distillation process at Archie Rose Distillery.
