Tawnya Bahr is a mum, food consultant, qualified chef and owner of Tawnya Bahr Food Consulting, specialising in creating unique culinary tours and events for industry professionals and passionate foodies, menu development and ingredient sourcing.
Tawnya’s 21 years in the food industry began not in her native Oregon, USA but in Sydney where in 1997 she began producing her own line of seafood sauces, eventually expanding that business into a nation-wide condiment distribution company. Always interested in the people and stories behind our food, in 2000 Tawnya turned her attention to designing gourmet Christmas hampers for the corporate market, featuring regional artisanal products. It was during her sourcing and product research that she formed the close relationships with farmers and producers that she enjoys today.
Tawnya obtained her qualifications in commercial cookery from the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts. She is passionate about promoting the locavore philosophy, respect for the land and farmers, and is proudly taking people “straight to the source”, providing a link between consumer, chef, foodie, artisan and producer.
